Hermanus Backpackers is an international backpackers hostel, rated in the top five of Southern Africa. We are five minutes walk into the centre of town and two minutes from the ocean for incredible whale watching from July to December.
We can accommodate 50 people comfortably and have plenty of space and many different types of rooms to choose from. Standard dormitory with 6 or 7 beds, private rooms, twins and double rooms with shared bathroom facilities, up-market en-suite doubles and a lovely self catering cottage with own lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bunk beds, upstairs is a double loft bedroom with en-suite. All beds are supplied with clean fresh linen, duvets and pillows. Dormitory rooms have lockers for your convenience and there is a safe in reception also.
We provide off-street parking with security lighting and a night watchman from 7.30pm until 7.30am to keep an eye on the cars, not that Hermanus is unsafe, but better safe than sorry!
We have just about everything you’ll need for your stay here, fully equipped self catering kitchens, satellite TV & video lounge, vending machines for snacks and cigarettes, a chill lounge for relaxing, cheap internet access, swimming pool, fire pit, bar and pool table. We have braai facilities and a wonderful courtyard garden with picnic tables, lapa and sun lounges.

We offer a traditional braai every evening, prepared by our tame South African staff! You can have Beef Steak, Tuna Steak, Chicken Kebabs or a vegetarian option from R70. All meals come with potatoes, salad and garlic bread.
NB World Cup 2010 Visitors - Hermanus is easy 120km from Cape Town and 100km from Cape Town International Airport!
